Golf in the Western Algarve
The western Algarve trades the busy resort strip for dramatic cliffs, pine and open space — and the golf follows suit. Palmares sweeps down to the beach at Lagos with 27 holes split between links, lakes and alegria loops. Boavista and Espiche sit above Praia da Luz with ocean views on almost every hole, while Penina's Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course near Portimão remains one of Portugal's true classics.
